As Schumacher Elevator has grown over the last 20 years in their current building, the departments within have expanded and required additional space and better adjacencies for work flow and connection to the manufacturing. The addition of more modern manufacturing equipment and this need for a rework of their administrative offices led to a large expansion of their building that seamlessly blends the existing building and the new addition both aesthetically and functionally to allow Schumacher to continue their growth.

Goals for this project were centered around developing a central office building that would offer a flexible environment to provide unique working and client interaction spaces to better serve their customers. It needed to be adaptable for company growth, representative of the culture this growing company is trying to create, and technology driven to allow company-wide collaboration on-site and between sites. Located near a high traffic location in Waverly, Iowa, this building is instantly recognizable with branding both outside and inside. The new office consists of a multilevel design with a collaborative jewel box lobby space. The inviting front entry beneath the collaborative work ‘nest’ above brings you into the company commons and café and provides easy access to all departments in this first level. The open stairway takes you to the second level, complete with flexible furniture and collaborative space, technology driven conference rooms and a social café. The outdoor terrace brings the work area outside while offering amazing views to the city. This modern, highly flexible office now allows The Accel Group to accommodate clients and co-workers to achieve their mission.

As her dental practice grew, Dr. Anne Hennessey knew it was time to expand her office building as well.  This new medical office building consolidated several clinics under one roof utilizing a Patient-Centered Medical Home model. The floor plan features a flexible and efficient clinic module that accommodates a variety of clinical services while allowing for flexible clinic scheduling and space utilization. The addition provides additional exam rooms, expands their sterilization area and break space, and creates a master office for the dental partners, as well as modernizing the entire space.

Renovations to the Williamsburg Community School District facilities include an updated main entrance and reception area, a cafeteria expansion and parking improvements at Mary Welsh Elementary. The High School building will receive updates in the music room, weight room and auditorium entrance, as well as HVAC and lighting improvements and updates to the parking lot.  The once grass football field will now be an ultra-modern synthetic turf field and the all-weather track is expanding to 8-lanes. Renovations will be wrapping up in stages throughout the remainder of 2020.

The Project consists of two new construction additions. One area is an addition to connect the vestibule and front office at the central west entrance to the school. These projects are currently under construction and will be completed for the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
