About Jesse

Jesse’s experience spans across dozens design projects with various levels of involvement, with emphasis on schematic design and masterplanning for facilities of all sizes. He is dedicated to bringing all creative ideas together to develop short-term and long-tern solutions that foster a safe and modern environment for all users. He enjoys working closely with each client and their team to include them in a highly collaborative design process. Jesse believes through this process the best communication and design solutions can be found for the client. Finding the balance between design aesthetics, budget, space efficiency, and function is the goal Jesse strives for on every project he and the Emergent team designs.

Jesse maintains a deep understanding of code requirements for buildings of every magnitude, and successfully works through the challenges that can often be faced when dealing with building codes, particularly common with renovations. Through ongoing relationships with state and local code officials, Jesse is confident that all challenges can be addressed to find positive resolution.

The success of the project does not stop at the design process. Jesse and the Emergent Team pride themselves with an outstanding level of detail on construction documents that translates to a successful construction process with a below-average rate of change. Much of this is attributable to his close and strong relationship with local, Iowa contractors as he believes the success of the construction project is a direct result of teamwork and collaboration amongst all trades. These beliefs are deeply rooted in the collaborative process the Emergent Team practices every day, from the very start of the design process to the years following the constructed project.
